It was only because she was his last resort, that he was here.
Byakuya had searched for the text in the school library, to no avail. He had written to his housekeeper and requested she search his personal library, but nothing had been found. He had even enquired as to whether or not the Kuchiki family library might possess it, although finding that it did not had not been much of a surprise.His family did not lend itself to the more liberal ideals Byakuya believed the text advocated.
It had become something of a challenge to him, to get this book. While it had been a simple fancy at first, something he had stumbled across after tracing various paths away from his research on what had happened to his sister the year before, the difficulties he had found in his attempt to read it only made Byakuya want to get his hands on it even more. Despite everything, he was still very much the Ravenclaw.
Now that he was at her door, however, he wondered if the text was worth perhaps this much. Before he could reconsider his decision, however, his hand had already knocked.
"One hopes you are free, Shalice."
