"Ugh...that did not feel too good," Iroh said to himself after a gargantuan sneeze. He held a tissue up to his face, followed by a warm wet towel to his long forehead. Sitting back in his chair that easily reclined despite his weight, he lifted the tea cup from in front of him and gave a short toast to his own sickness. "I don't even like licorice, but if tea helps, I will not complain."
After giving a small shudder from tasting the bitter tannin, he sat quietly. He pondered to himself for some time, giving mental regards to his various responsibilities. However, he felt the most important responsibility was to himself, and so, he would sit in his office, drinking tea until he was sure that he could provide the best work possible. "Maybe even a round or two with the koto might relax my nerves." He patted his hand gently against the thirteen strings to his side. "Of course, there's really only one song I know on it...and I don't think I can perform it in my condition."
He sighed to himself, hoping that the day would pass easily while he recovered his strength of will.
