"Hi! I'm Uzumaki Naruto! What's your name?"

He'd made it such a point to talk to anyone and everyone on his way to and from class, as well as in the journals, that he had a hard time placing him. Plus, he was a new guy, so...yeah, slightly confused.

Setting a course, Naruto darted down the corridor, looking back from time to time to let the other boy catch up, heading in a direct line towards the broom shed and the fields beyond.
Ahead, down several flights of staircases, was the door that led to the courtyards and outside world.

Luke followed his new acquaintance without question, for the most part, through several winding halls and corridors to an outside field. He hesitated before walking out in the open space, which was a lot more.. open than the courtyard he had back home. "So this is it?" The field was so long and there was nothing but a vast expanse of sky overhead. The redhead looked around and looked a little more lost than usual in all the open space, "It's huge!"

He spread his arms to encompass the sky, still smiling, before toppling backwards and falling with a laugh, safely, to lie on the ground, staring at the sky.
"C'mon, lie down! You've just got to get used to it, huh? I'll go get us some brooms in a bit." Naruto loved being outdoors, and anyway, Luke looked like he needed a little bit of time and he'd learned a little bit about tact since coming to Hogwarts, thank you very much.
Eh heh heh, Luke looked~ Luke looked Look luked eh hehhehheheheh~ ahem.
He sat up and patted a patch of empty grass next to him, breathing in the rich smell of fresh grass and clear air.

When presented with the suggestion of sitting down, Luke turned to his new comrade with a huffy expression, "Sit in the dirt?" Luke crossed his arms, "No way. If I sit down then my clothes are gonna get all dingy." If they were going to fly like was implied than he wouldn't have that problem! Besides, the field was dirty enough and he'd have to worry about his shoes enough as it was. "Come on! Where's the brooms."

The broom shed had the familiar, soft smell of varnished wood and leather, and Naruto easily hefted two brooms; one was his own, which was fast but sturdy and bore splinters from many different crashes into various objects - the other a normal school broom which travelled slowly, but very steadily.
Naruto tossed the school broom overarm at Luke with a grin. "You know how to fly, right?"

Naruto stroked his broom with a touch of magic, making it thrum under his hand. Crouching into a twist, he sent the broom arrowing away in a straight line, hovering above the ground. Rising from his crouch he sprinted alongside, vaulted onto the broom and instantly soared towards the sky. It was a rather showy mounting, but heh, he'd always liked showing off.
"Come on, Luke! The sky's great today!"
He'd always loved flying, too. It'd been a way to get away from being alone, when he was younger. He'd learned all kinds of tricks on how to get away from pursuers midflight, too.

"Yeah, I'm coming. Just gimme a minute. Geez!" The redhead took his broom and sat on it while it he was firmly on the ground, and slowly the broom began to raise up, but it didn't go very far off the ground. It was kind of wobbly as well, but at least it had flown somewhat. "All right. Now ..getting higher." If he could get it off the ground that wouldn't be a problem. So he concentrated, and the broom slowly did rise above the field, but again not nearly the height needed to fly.

Stumped at how to get the broom to rise (when he'd first mounted a broom, he couldn't get it to rise either, but he'd just kept at it until he could and he still can't describe how) for Luke, Naruto instead kept him company, hovering next to him, his feet brushing the ground where he sat floating above the grass.
He grinned at Luke, fully trusting that Luke's broom would rise. "Eh, don't worry if you can't get it to move easily, these school brooms are a little unresponsive."

"Tch.." The redhead didn't even want to discuss it because he'd just end up getting more irritated. It was probably the brooms anyway--like Naruto said--they did look awful run down. Like everything else, the brooms probably wore out after so much use. "So how would you play this sport anyway? You fly, and what. Chase each other like tag?"

Re-entering the shed, Naruto procured the Quaffle, tucking it under his arm as he exited the shed.
Showing the Quaffle in all of its red and spherical glory, Naruto rolled it in between his hands. "There're three Chasers in each House team, and we each try to get the Quaffle into those three hoops," he pointed upwards, as only the golden supporting poles were visible on ground level, "And each team has a Keeper which tries to block it. And each goal scores ten points!"
"There's other balls as well, like the bludgers and the Snitch, but the Quaffle's really important. Wanna toss it around a bit?"
Reply
"So basically you just try and score goals while you're on a broom." The redhead oversimplified the meaning of the game out loud to himself; he didn't like overcomplicated things.
He raised an eyebrow when posed the questioned about toss, "Playing catch? That's a kids game."
