One would think he would've been used to the whole deal with people appearing out of no where. It wasn't that he was devoid in the way of paying attention, but people in Hogwarts seriously had liking for appearing and disappearing. Once already a teacher had appeared out of a room devoid of anything and surprised him, and when it happened this time the reaction was much of the same. "Ahh!" The redhead whirled around and took a graceless step backward.

It was only some girl, but did everyone in the school have to go around surprising him like that?! He didn't even pay any mind to the question that she asked, since he didn't quite catch it anyway. "Wh-- Aghh, How long have you been standing there?"

That seemed like a legitimate reason he supposed, though it was still kind of creepy how she had been there at all without his noticing. Luke resumed some physical composure and showed the girl the journal that he had in hand--it was amazing he hadn't accidentally flung it out of hand or something. "No. I was looking for something that was mentioned in here. I think it's a field or.. something."

Flowers? Luke's face twisted into a purse of dissaproval, "Do I look like the kind of person who goes around picking flowers?" Rhetorical question, and she'd better not answer it! Because the only answer to that question was no. Again, Luke indicated the book he was holding. "I'd heard that they played some kind of sport around here called... Qu..quid..something and I was looking for where they played it at."

"Weird?!" What was she talking about? ..and where did she get a rooster from? Dammit! Well, whatever. She seemed to know about the sport thing and that was what he needed to know about at the moment. "Agh.." He groaned, trying to mentally set the comment aside so he could respond to that later. "All right." Wait a minute. That name--Maya Fey--he'd heard it somewhere before... though he didn't really pay attention to names much. It was too bad he erased most of the girls comments from his journal too or else he could have realized who he was talking to. "So what's this whole game thing? I never heard of it, so I thought the people who were talking about it made the whole thing up."

"Yeah." The most popular sport in all the wizarding world.. kind of sounded like the beginning of an elaborate sales pitch or something. It was still kind of baffling that it was supposedly so popular and he'd never heard of it, so the whole idea of it being so big of a sport still didn't compute. Honestly, if it was so damned important he would have heard of it! The whole thing drove him nuts. "So if you're the big expert, show me how to play or something!"

..That would be so hot. IDK that canon but it's still hot.

If it was any kind of jab, Luke certainly didn't seem to get that it was and he answered the question outright. "No, I don't. I've never really flown before." He stated as if it wasn't a problem, or even a slight irregularity for someone in the realm to have never flown before.
