Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Hogwarts. I hope you all enjoyed your holiday, whether you spent it with family at home, or with friends here at school.
The Headmaster would have addressed you upon your return, but he caught a cold over the weekend and is resting in bed, which leaves me to share some news with you.
First, the Department of Education has seen fit to remove the Board of Governors from the school grounds. After Ultimecia's attack on the school, the dark magical forces that were felt rising have dissipated, and the Department has decided that Hogwarts is no longer in danger enough to require their presence here.
This brings me to my second announcement; the Department of Education and the Board of Governors have decided that the staff and students would be better served with a second Head, and have appointed me Headmistress, to work alongside Headmaster Kramer. I hope to do well by you all, and wish you to know that you may always come to me with any complaints or concerns you may have.
Finally, we will be having a feast in celebration of the New Year Friday this week, so you will have something to look forward to as your classes resume.
