I'm surprised just how many students and staff members were affected because of that one childish prank. I do hope that everyone is not too upset over what happened.
[There's a pause as she selects the following words carefully, more hesitantly than the confident sounding introduction]
I myself-- managed-- to avoid the incident entirely. [A blatant lie, that she's hoping no one picks up on. She is testing the water.]
[More quietly and more to herself. Possibly loud enough to be picked up by the journal]
That... incident... has however given me.. plenty to think about.
