[there are a few things written on the paper -- a half-done recipe for a complicated looking cocktail, a few notes here and there regarding lesson plans, scribbled reminders. The beginnings of a letter to someone, quickly scratched out.

Tifa's voice filters in a moment later.]So...given that everyone here seems to deal with the things that go on ( Read more... )

[boredly] Bodyguard for someone in the magic community who terminated the contract outta no where. I had to do something, and Ministry work is boring as hell. Muggle work's worse.

Sounds exciting. [a laugh] I don't think a Ministry job would suit you, no. [a pause.] Do you like kids?

Muggle work's not boring all the time. I've had a few odd jobs, here and there.

More than I like Ministry big-wigs. Besides, it's more fun watching them try to be sneaky and prank people.

I grew up doing Muggle work. Sorry, not interested in doing it anymore.

[She sounds amused.] Have you caught any of them trying to sneak out after curfew yet?

To each his own. I did miss using magic freely, when I was in the Muggle world. Everything takes up so much time there.

Traveled and learned. And what better place to continue learning than at a school, right?

[a humming noise.] Very mysterious. But you're right.

What's so mysterious about learning?

Not the learning. [Troll senses...tingling. But Tifa's cool. 8|b] The response.

Spent a couple of years playing Quidditch professionally, and acting like an overgrown kid. When I decided to settle down, I figured a needed a job that wouldn't take me to far away so I ended up in the Department of Games and Sports.

And it was actually my son that got me to take this position, he said that he wanted to see me smile and be happy again, and I can't say no to that kid.

I did a lot of traveling and personal research on rare magic.

What did you do Tifa?

I traveled a lot too. Did bartending in Muggle and magical pubs for a little while. I worked at the Garden with kids after that. I was on the move a lot those days.

I think traveling is lovely and I would like to do it again some day...perhaps even during the Summer breaks. Which pubs did you prefer? I imagine they both came with certain difficulties.

Rare magic? That sounds like a fascinating subject.. was there any specific category that took your interest?

I was chief of my jungle village in Malaysia. I led the hunts.

Now my son can take over, and my grandson seems to be taking after me in cooking. I saw Cid's letter as a opportunity to learn more about other cultures.

It had its dangers, depending on what we came across. We would attack the larger prey in formation and set up traps. It was fun to swing from trees.

What did you do before coming to Hogwarts?

Malaysia is such a distant country! Ah, although our countries may be separate it is refreshing to meet another from the same continent.

I am certain we could learn a lot from you as well. What sort of a social structure did you follow in your village?
