Flying around was fun and it's got me curious on an idea!

In order to fly, brooms require a certain amount of constant magical power from the rider. This power has to be in a perfect stream with little interruptions or sudden interruptions for it to work properly. Which isn't ordinarily a problem given that our body naturally keeps magic running in a safe and steady flow at all times. (If you're human and your body does not do this, please seek medical attention as soon as possible.)

[Have the complete formula written out that explains exactly this mechanic, only in complex Arthimancy and what have you.]

In order to increase or decrease speed on a broom, the rider/user simply adds or taps off power from the broom. Bringing a broom to a complete stop is done by signalling the broom to move in the complete opposite direction.

[Have another mechanic formula that's a little less complex, but still gives an example of acceleration/deceleration and brakes.]

While Thermodynamics still play a part in efficiency of flight, a lot of physical movement when manipulating a broom is largely just instinctive. Leaning forward makes us feel like we're going faster, leaning back makes us feel like we're going slower, etc.

This however limits or denies squibs or less magically-capable people from using brooms at all or for an extended period of time. There either isn't enough for a reaction from the broom, the impulses are sluggish due to requirements not being met quick enough and if worse comes to worse, the broom simply drains the user until he/she dismounts due to upkeep.

[Now have some hypothetical formulas that proves why such cases would be likely the reason.]

I guess my point of this writing is that I'm curious if there's the possibility of creating an artificial means of power and regulation. Pardon the muggle term, but a sort of 'battery' and 'transformer'. It might sound easy in principle, but any sudden spike in power would cause damage to the broom or other unfortunate consequences.

I know it hasn't exactly been done before in the magical world without extreme amount of materials and are usually made in a macro-scale, but creating such an enchantment could enable more..ah, unlikely individuals to experience things they couldn't have before.
