[006 Check-Ups]

As interesting as it is, having a dragon follow me around the infirmary is not very appealing. First years keep popping into the infirmary to stare.

Does anyone know how exactly this one happened?

[He's actually really excited that it's a dragon :'D]

I'm afraid I do not.

Although, the creatures certainly don't seem to mean any harm. Plus, I believe there is a strong bond here that is more than just a random animal making an appearance.

I figured as much, but having a dragon tell me that she is part of me is disconcerting at best.

Have you gained a companion as well?

Yes, he is a humming bird. I think they might be a manifestation, something like a patronous...only much more tangible.

That is a pretty interesting theory.

A hummingbird? They're... very energetic.

I'm not exactly sure how to go about testing. Although, it does seem like many of the animals might have symbolic meanings based on what I've been reading on animal spirits in other magic systems outside of Western culture.

The hummingbird for example is often associated with time and eternity...as well as energy and agility. I suppose you just don't know me as well as you might think, Doctor.

Symbolic? [:'D Like the fact that he's the dragon of the Chinese Zodiac?] That would make sense. We are ruled by symbolism, even if we don't know it.

No, I suppose I don't know you very well at all, Miss Meioh.

[Right, but not that she knows that :Db]

I think we should be more aware of it. Just think of the various magics around us starting with our very essential wands. The cores and woods are very special and, as they always say, the wand chooses the wizard. There is a reason for that.

Maybe we should work on fixing that, hm? It would probably do you a lot of good to get out of that office every now and again. I enjoy my solitude as well, but I don't think you even get that much where you are.

So you think that are very wands may in fact be a representation of some part of ourselves? [he is totally examining his wand now with a thoughtful expression]

I have no problem with staying in my office. But, if you think we should work on getting to know each other, I could leave. Did you have something particular in mind?

I believe so, yes. I'm not sure how much you can prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. After all, the only person who truly knows yourself is yourself and sometimes people hide their true natures from everyone including themselves.

Oh! But now I'm talking in circles, I apologize.

Well, do you enjoy a good cup of tea?

In circles, yes, but it is an insightful observation. And accurate.

I do enjoy a good cup of tea.

I've been told I'm good at tea making. Perhaps you'd like to stop by for a cup. It might not get you out of the castle, but at least it will get you out of the hospital wing.

... If you insist, I would like to stop by for the tea.
