[[With no small amount of audible fear:]] Tesladyne?

Yes, Tesladyne. It's a patent company that... you know what? I don't know what it's doing right now. What year is this?

Why would you name a company after Tesla??? [[And that's said as an insult.]]

As much as I'd love to list the many reasons to name a company after Tesla, I have bigger problems right now.

This is an emergency, so could you just redirect the call? I swear we can talk about whatever your problem is after this.

I'm not the operator. You've been kidnapped, and we're all penned in this town. It defies normal physics; there's no escape method as yet from what I've gathered.

Okay, I guess that's a little better then what I thought. It doesn't explain a thing but it could be worse.

Also, how do they defy physics?

[He doesn't seem convinced of that one.]

Too many ways to list off, for one, but I'll give you a practical example. Pick a direction. Walk in it. Note the results. Make no turns; it shouldn't take you terribly long to see my point illustrated.

If I hit an electric fence or invisible wall, I will find you.

No no, nothing like that. Just a spatial anomaly that shouldn't exist.

You say that like it's okay.

Do we have any idea where they keep the equipment for transferring data and sentience?

No, I say it like it's a fact and the sooner you accept it, the sooner you can start helping find a way out.

...Even if you are from a world that's accepted the works of Tesla.

Okay, fine, I'll bite. I got teeth now, I can do that.

You say world like this is a different one all together. So what does the name Tesla mean in your crazy world?

My world isn't the crazy one. We're not the ones that embraced the work of a madman.

See, think of that word right there. Madman. Tesla isn't crazy where I come from, he was actually a gentleman.

If I had to say which world was crazy, my bet's on yours.

[[Ffffff.]] Next thing you'll tell me is that you're from a world that actually uses electricity.

You know, I really don't like your world.

Of course we use electricity. Unless that light bulb I just turned on is glowing with radiation I'd say that's still the norm.

You don't power entire cities or towns with steam.
