I ask one thing- are the aprons really needed if I can also take part?

They take away from the feel of the fight somewhat I think.

Nope, some people are afraid they'll get dirty, so they might want one. If you don't want one, then you don't have to use it.

Thank you upperclassman Squalo, I think it takes away from the game somewhat.

I am hoping to be picked by Akefia as a partner, I have missed the thrill of battle, even in simulation.
