Trip to WA

Aug 16, 2005 20:31

I was up in WA this past week to visit my sister, Briana, and meet my brother-in-law, Eric.

It was nice, but cold. When we went to the dock to pick up Eric, it was 57 degrees at 10am. I had to borrow my sister’s winter jacket. Eric was just getting back from deployment; he is in the navy.

Luckily while I was there, I didn’t have to participate in Briana’s favorite pastime, killing slugs, but I did see the remains of a few in her yard.

She says she is not killing them because she just puts a ring of salt around them. Then ThEy “commit suicide” because they crawl into the salt, she didn’t put it on them.

I did go to work with Briana for about 4 hours on Thursday to keep her company and me occupied. She works at Hava Java, one of the millions of drive up espresso shops.

She gave me lots of yummy things to eat/drink. My favorite was an Almond Rocha Espresso Milk Shake. Some guy came and ordered it, and she just made extra and gave me the portion which didn’t fit in his cup.

Before dropping me off at the airport, we went to Snoqualmie Falls. It was really pretty. You avrive at the above the waterfall and then you have to climb down the side of the mountain it is next to play on the rocks below. To see the rest of the pictures and Briana’s witty captions click on the pictures.
