So did anyone else watch Power To The People on BBC2 tonight? I always knew what was going on with the Governments treatment of the Defense Medical Services, indeed over the last 18 years I have seen at first hand the closure of several of our Military hospitals. It made me sick then and it makes me sick now, but just seeing all the bare facts and figures tonight just made me feel so undervalued. Yes, there are people in this society who place no worth on the Armed Forces, but they are by far in the minority. Most people, even if they don't support the War in Iraq (and Lord knows, I'm not a huge fan of it. I know it was just a diversionary measure designed to draw the American peoples attention away from the fact that no, we still haven't found Osama Bin Laden, like that was going to work) but at least they recognise what the British Armed Forces do and hold us in some sort of esteem.
But apart from anything else, the individual stories told in tonights programme hit me particularly hard. There but for the grace of God and all that. I'm not ashamed to say, I shed some tears tonight.
We deserve better than that....
