a kinetic impetus

1st draft:

I am
slip sliding
easin off
an ornate persian rug
(no tassles)
onto sidewalk supporting a wet bed of paint;
moccassins chanelling
Polluck, Fred Astaire and the painter in me

2nd draft:
I am
slip slidin
on sidewalks sunken under beds of wet paint.
my moccassins channel Fred Astaire
to tip tap break down! the Jackson Polluck,
to ignite the painterly poetic in me.
The newly rejuvenated sun burned comfort into my soles,
double-timing the ordinary pedestrian pace.

(a performance piece where a stage is covered in paint…or maybe, for the sake of the audience, i'm dancing on a huge plate of glass that’s suspended in the air above the audience so they could understand on another level the intricacies of my movements based on the patterns my body left behind, and, if the floor were covered in different colors, the order in which my movements occurred would mix the colors in a particular order.)
