So I've decided that the best part of being a grad student is being a TA. I'm working for John Sharp who is fucking hilarious and about 8 million years old. He was working at UVM when Bailey was there in the 80s. I'm teaching 3 labs of General Chemistry and I have about 70 students. I even have my own grade book. Hee Hee! I have to write my own course syllabus and decide what grading scheme I want to use etc etc. My first lab lecture is on density. Yeah! But seriously, I'm wicked excited to teach - I think that's going to be by far the best part of this whole PhD thing.
I have to read about a thousand pages out of my textbooks tonight, which we all know is going to last about a week before I just give up and lose my textbooks for the rest of the semester.
I did however manage to complete both of my reaction schematics for orgo, which was very exciting.
