for some reason today, I was reminded of this article:
http://news.mongabay.com/2005/0709-rhett_butler.html or at least, the ideas in the article. Then I got to thinking about vegetarians, and how they relate to this subject of what I will from this point on refer to as space meat for almost no reason. This space meat could essentially have no nerves, so there is no pain involved. The space meat would have no soul, or at least, not a whole one, I imagine it would have as much of a soul as the individual cell it came from. but anyway. it would be an alternate source of meat to the livestock market of the world. much more eco friendly on top of that. and no animals are harmed. the creation and mainstreaming of such a product would on top of being cool, and hopefully cripple the pig industry, but could also change the concept of vegetarianism. it would become less of a statment, and more of a personal choice, like religion. animals aren't really being harmed. the process would probably be cleaner than livestock. we would need to grow less crops to feed livestock. though, that would probably create some issues. that and it is just neat, and would be willing to eat such a thing.
