Yesterday was my great-grand-parents' 100th wedding anniversary. Married on June 14, 1905, my grandmother's parents made a life together that was everything I hope for in my own existence. They were dedicated to each other and wonderful parents to their children.
I'm going to call my grandmother tonight and ask her what she learned from them and what her childhood was like. Although I've already heard many wonderful stories over the years, it's always a special treat to fall backward through time, visualizing every detail of her anecdotes. She should have been a writer. Perhaps she yet will - her letters are models of brevity, wit, and perspicacity.
