Reading While I Walk

Now for the haiku.

Move quickly, surely,

Reading and walking.

I really adore reading while I walk. It's much more enjoyable when walking a route I've taken before, so that the terrain is familiar. Smooth, unbroken sidewalks are extremely important. When I'm walking to Fabric Row (which I've done three times in the ( Read more... )

I just suddenly remembered that when I was a kid, I used to try to read and hula-hoop at the same time. :)
I like your idea of tightrope-walking! How about doing balance-beam exercises and reading? Now I'm thinking of how to read in all areas of my life... ;)

Hi- I found you through craftgrrl. The Galliano jacket is great, and I am certainly impressed that you can pull it off (the sewing and wearing). What I really wanted to say is that I always read on my way to class! People may look at me strangely, but it's so relaxing and actually helps me walk faster. Yay for reading!

Hurrah! Another talented reading-walker! ;)
Plus you have so much more time to enjoy those books you'd never get to otherwise.

The other day it was raining and I was walking and reading with my umbrella in one hand and my book in the other. I got particularly strange looks that day, and I realized that reading while carrying an umbrella in the rain really is pretty odd. But so much fun! The rain on the umbrella creates a little cocoon around me. In a way it's even nicer than regular - a bit more challenging, but really wonderful. Do you ever balance an umbrella and still read?

ooh, sounds like fun. I've never tried it. Usually I don't even use an umbrella unless it's cold and raining. I like the rain!

LOL, me too!! Another rare breed - people who like rain. ;) I grew up in Portland (Oregon) so I love the rain and grey, cloudy weather. It always makes me feel more alive than those hot, still, sunny days.
