Oscars, 2006
i have to comment, of course! this is the biggest night of my industry!
Supporting Actor - George Clooney, Syriana - yeay. i wanted Matt Dillon to win. mainly b/c that was the only movie i saw and i thought he was really, really good in Crash. it's good he won for something though, so good for him!
Supporting Actress - Rachel Weisz, The Constant Gardner - yeay. there wasn't anyone i particularly wanted to win for this category. i heard this is a good movie, so good for her?
Adapted Screenplay - Paul Haggis, Crash - i LOVED this movie! sooo good! i'm so happy it won for screenplay, because it was a freakin' awesome story! and he's Canadian! woot woot!
Cinematographer - Dion Beebe, Memoirs of a Geisha - yeay an Oscar for Memoirs! he's the same guy who did Chicago, and this movie looked so pretty. and it was my first audition, so it's like it's somehow "my" movie, too. lol anything with Asians in it, i guess!
Director - Ang Lee, Brokeback Mountain - yeay an Asian Director! all i know is that when he gave a shout out to China/Hong Kong/Taiwan, he said "Thank You" in Mandarin! lol
Best Picture - CRASH - lemme just say this, OHHHH YEAAAAH!!! i was soooo happy that Crash won! first and foremost, it's just a great, fantastic, amazing movie! everything about this film was just superb! Paul Haggis is Canadian, Lions Gate is a Canadian/local production company, and yeah, it was SO GOOD!! i'm sure Brokeback Mountain is great, but Crash is such an eye-opener and sends a great message! yeay, yeay, yeay!
