I can't believe it'll be almost a whole other month before Blonde Redhead's "23" (two-three) comes out! Kills me. Well, it hits April 11th. At least Patrick Wolf's new album, "The Magic Position" is already here. I picked up The Make-Up's 3rd album, "Sound Verite" (circa 1997) at Exclusive the other day. Damn good. God Bless Calvin Johnson and his magical music mastery factory that is Dub-NarcoticStudio. I've also recently discovered that The Rain Parade are great. I got their LP "Emergency Third Rail Power Trip" and Elliot Smith's Double-LP "From a Basement on a Hill" together for $15 the other day.
I've been taking hoards of pictures and getting a lot of film developed. I got a roll back yesterday that was almost entirely of the Singapore Zoo, which, by the end of the month will be about two fucking full years ago- but it just shows me how amazing my 35mm Nikon is. I've got 3 rolls of 120 that I had developed floating around in various hands at the moment. Need to get those. I'm pretty excited (with limited expectations) because I found a lab in town that had my B&W 120 done in about 2 days. Two rolls I shot on my mom's Mamiya s645 m1000 (Medium Format SLR that weighs a ton). Amazing camera- hope they turned out! And I've got a roll from my Dad's Mamiyaflex twin Lens at Mike Crivello's that's finally back after two weeks. Nearing the end of my first roll on my Holga. My first color 120 experience. I took a lot of shots with the flash, but indoors at night on 100 speed film (I'm biting my nails on that one). Still trying to become more acquainted with my Nikon D50. I long for a nicer lens. I found a F1.8 50mm for $100 but I'm so broke. I also found a fish-eye adapter for it that I hope I can get. My pal Adam and I recorded a 5-song-EP last week (over a 12 hour period) and in the midst of searching for music equipment I unearthed my 28mm Lens for my 35mm Nikon after having not seen in for at least a year, possibly more. I've become so camera-obsessed lately it's kind of nuts.
