Summary: Duncan contemplates the fact that the world has always revolved around him, Lilly, Logan, and Veronica... after his episode in "trip to the dentist"
A/N: Unbetaed, just flowed out of my brain. It's fanfic, so to me, grammar isn't really all that important... Never written anything from Duncan's point of view... was interesting to try and get into his head.
There is no such thing as innocence anymore, not for them. Or so Duncan thinks. He thinks he might have killed his sister. The one he hasn’t slept with, that is. That feeling inside, seeing Logan reach out for Veronica’s hand, the slap in the face that had been him calling her his girlfriend… it wasn’t as if he shouldn’t have seen this coming. He couldn’t remember when the world didn’t revolve around the four of them. Duncan, Lilly, Logan, Veronica… they were all connected somehow, on way too many different levels now. He really shouldn’t have been surprised. Yet, Logan was supposed to hate Veronica, and Veronica was supposed to hate Logan, because them hating each other made it less painful to hate himself. And now apparently they didn’t hate each other. He rolled his pill in his scraped and bruised hand, stared at it for a moment, only briefly contemplating enjoying the haze for today, before dropping it in the toilet, and taking a piss on it for the satisfaction it gave him. Somehow, he knew this was all his mother’s fault. He didn’t kill Lilly, and Veronica wasn’t his sister… if only he could blame her for this new thing between Logan and Veronica, and his theory would be complete. Except that it’s not about her. Not in the slightest.
The world always revolved around the four of them. Even with Lilly dead, she wasn’t really gone, and the world kept on turning. Duncan, Lilly, Logan, and Veronica.
Logan and Veronica, Logan and Veronica, Logan and Veronica…
He reaches for the pill bottle, but hears her voice “Don’t be stupid, Donut” and he cries, breaking down in the bathroom with Lilly sitting beside him, thinking only of her, Veronica, and Logan.
Duncan, Lilly, Logan, Veronica… the world revolved around them. And somehow, when all the tears had passed, Duncan knew it always would.
