I have been home from Italy for about 10 days now and haven't updated at all. I had hand surgery last week so my typing has been very limited. I'm feeling a little better today even though I only slept for 2 hours last night. My pain medication keeps me from falling asleep. My body had never reacted properly to Narcotics of any sort! Ryan has been in Disney World for a week and I think gets home tonight.I miss him. I have been going to tons of meetings and keeping close to people in the progam while on pain meds. I've also been hanging out with my new friend Emily a lot. Shes not really a new friend at all we just never spent any real time getting to know each other. We have a lot in common and come fom similar backrounds. Anywho, we are going to go out today and goof off before she goes to work. Pride mtg. was great last night and it was really nice to see everyone. I have hardly had a chance to adjust from my returning from Italy. Slowly, but surley...
I got a total of like $3,500 in grants and aid just for fall semster! That is awesome. Voc Rehab sent me $846 toward tuition,and a $100 book voucher. I got $1,100 from my pell grant and other $700 from a KAP grant, and the same for spring semester too. Damn I'm lucky woman.
Will be doing training in August to do outreach and testing in the clubs. I guss all of us AIDS project folks will be going out to clubs, and passing out condoms, information on prevention, and doing free on the spot testing should anyone be interisted. Ryan and I got certified back in May as HIV counselors and Orasure testers by the Ky State Health Department. I think its very cool. My hands are going numb so I think my LJ post is over. Glad to be safe and home in my old Kentucky home, and good ol' land of the bluegrass (and air conditioning)
