My horoscope, according to
Mystic Medusa ...
Style: Capricorn is cosmically blessed with beautiful bone structure, good taste and the ability to look younger with every year. … You are in Phoenix mode all year, particularly in February, and it is time to slough off vestiges of out-moded routines, much-loved but no-longer-you accessories and wardrobe. Unclutter so that fresh energies of renewal can enter your life.
Happiness: Life gives you the chance to be absolutely and radiantly yourself. It’s individuation to the max. You crave to be appreciated for nothing less than your authentic self. This attitude permeates every aspect of your life. Tres deep and oddly enough, profitable. You attract like-minded peeps to work and play with. The Solar Eclipse in your sign on January 15 is major; your real New Year and the best starred time to set some serious goals.
I found eight pennies today, so if this is my real new year, it's off to an auspicious start.
I made a few half-hearted resolutions in the past, but they never led to much. But in the past two years I've felt a genuine (rather than socially programmed) energy in the new year; rather than making killjoy resolutions (like "lose weight" or "eat more vegetables") I've considered my values and set intentions to guide my life.
I've honed the list to a handful of pithy mantras:
- Don't settle
- Create more
- Build strength
- Feel sexy
#1 encourages me to seize the reins of my life rather than drifting, to say no when necessary, and to look for opportunities. #2 encourages me to write, sew, knit, rearrange the furniture, solve problems, etc. rather than consuming and vegging. #3 reminds me to do all sorts of things that promote physical health, financial security, and emotional resilience. I could have picked "strong" or "smart" or something else for #4, but "sexy" sort of sums that up for me, and this reminds me to occasionally put on a cute dress and some red lipstick.
I think 2010 will bring some type of career shift. I don't know if that will mean a new job (seems unlikely in this economy) or a new attitude toward my current job or training that will prepare me for new opportunities.
