The only part of all this I don't "understand" is thinking/planning. You even plan/count what you eat? Oy.... I don't think I could bear to live a life that included so much planning and regulating. Cuz you know me, I just DO. I don't channel much mental energy into the physical aspects of my life (physical aspects taking up the majority of my waking hours); though I do a crapload of planning for my clients--sometimes feeling sorry for them that they can't "just do" and need to pay me mega ducats to motivate/beat them. But we know this.... hahahha (you can see my actual answers to the original questions in comments chez Rat)
Row time? You're erging? 2k? What's your time? Hey, just because I don't plan/cogitate doesn't mean I don't compete :)
eh, yes and no. i buy enough groceries that i always have options, but once i start cooking i then end up measuring out what i eat in a much more strict fashion to keep it balanced. so i don't think of it as planning as much as simply regulating, and i would agree with what you say about just eating and eating smart, but damn, once i started doing this my workout log was suddenly filled with lots of PRs by that day's workout - seriously, only three months after the second dislocation and i set four in one week...that's sick/amazing
