The World Gone Mad (RL rant)
I don't think I heard about this until yesterday, although it seems to have happened on Monday in Tulsa, where I live. This is a sad story, and I'd suggest you discontinue reading if you are not in the mood for a shockingly upsetting story. I'm sorry, but I really just need to take a moment and get it out.
Two days ago an infant was left unattended by his mother and grandmother in a baby swing in a room with two puppies. Police are saying he was left unattended for an hour and a half. Evidently the infant was later found dead, mauled to death by a lab puppy that was between 8 and 12 weeks old. The suspect puppy, according to what one of our friends has told us, must have thought the swing was some sort of a game and somehow managed to pull the baby out if it, and then shaking (like dogs do with their toys) managed to snap the babies neck. The lab was immediately euthanized by animal control. I think they have since done an autopsy that supports this story.
My heart, right now is feeling shattered. I'm very angry at the parents of the child for being so irresponsible. I'm beyond frustrated that a baby animal, even if guilty is being held accountable. I know that animals are euthanized every day in this country just because no home can be found, but still... The entire thing is appalling. I don't know what else to say.
