you move me
I bought a portable dishwasher off of Craigslist yesterday (way out in Monrovia), then went to Target, dropped off more clothes at Out of the Closet, packed and gave away a bunch of stuff FREE on Craigslist.
Kevin came up around 7:30 and told me he had made dinner reservations for us at Malo. I had told him that if he was feeling stressed out, I was fine with just packing and seeing him at the house. But, he said no, he wanted to do this for me.
I showered, changed and we walked up to Malo only to find that he and my neighbor, Megan, had actually planned a HUGE surprise dinner for me! The neighbors were there, along with AA peeps: Laurel, Jeff, Lawrence and Byron! So awesome! I was utterly and completely surprised. Honestly. So sweet of them both. I feel loved.
This morning, the movers arrived at 9:30. I wasn't totally ready and continued to pack while they moved stuff. We got down to the new house and unpacked the truck by 2:30. The total move cost was $315 (not bad!) and I gave them an extra $50 since they had to deal with an INORDINATE amount of cat hair (seriously. It was EVERYWHERE).
I'm back up in Silver Lake right now...packing some more. The cupboards are still full and the cabinet beneath the sink. Oy. I'll be back tomorrow, too. I just ate a Turkey Fatburger and fries which is essentially the first food I've had ALL day.
K has a show tonite at Taix, so I probably won't see him until late (and, honestly, I'm so exhausted already, I have a feeling I will be PASSED OUT). I'm super excited about the new house, tho. It's gorgeous and it's already feeling like home (even tho it's drowning in boxes).
