Excitement for the day is that I'm getting written up at work...
.... for a promotion. w000
Granted, this will still only bring me to a level lower than I should have been brought in at.. but, right now I'll take what I can get. Fighting windmills as an old man seems to be a silly task. I know I'll be getting a raise from the deal, but I believe they're just doing an early buy-out of my annual raise.
Speaking of their annual raises. In a department-wide meeting last month, the VP illustrated to us that raises are on average 2-3.5%. joy. And then he went on to say that the average cost of living increases every year by about 1-1.5%. So, math wizards, this is effectively a net raise of 2.5% at best. Are they really that cheap? They pull over $1million a day online as it is.. cheap bastards.
How does this raise increase compare to where you are, and what you've experienced? This is assuredly the lowest I've ever personally seen.
must continue plan to be self employed. *grumble* any venture capitalists out there? (=
