On the way in to work today, the local DJ was talking with Topher Grace (yum), and he seemed mostly concerned with "what do you Tivo?"
I'm sorry, What? Has our entire society become so trendy that we can no longer refer to activities by what they actually are, but rather by the devices used?
Growing up, I was never asked, "do you want to come over and watch a betamax?", or "do you want to come over and listen to some cassettes?" It was, "Do you want to come over and watch some movies?", or "...listen to some music?" I had friends a few yrs ago, when DVD players were first coming out, who did the same thing. "Want to come over and watch some DVDs?" No, thanks, as much as I'd love to see that _movie_, I'll stick to LaserDisc.
And, for the record, the thing you go to a MOVIE theater for is a "movie", not a "show". A "show" is either a tv program, or a stage production. (the latter being a MUSICAL if there is song and dance involved).
thank you for your daily patronage.
