Watched New Tricks a little while ago. It wasn't on for real, it was on a DVD and I've seen it so many times I know exactly what's going to happen and I'm word perfect on parts. BUT I love it. Now, don't get me wrong Without a Trace was my first real obsession (except maybe for Diagnosis Murder) but New Tricks is something else. The acting, the comedy, the cast interaction, I've never seen anything like it ever and I watch probably 20 TV shows on a semi-regular basis.
I'm the biggest fan ever of US shows, I rank US shows as higher on my favourites list than most British shows because they're just better but New Tricks could wipe the floor with them. Alan Armstrong, James Bolam, Amanda Redman and Dennis Waterman. Four great British actors and worth watching out for if they're in anything else. I've watched Minder because of Dennis Waterman (trying to get hold of The Sweeney), James Bolam is in another favourite show Born and Bred, Amanda Redman is guest starring in Vincent next week and Alan Armstrong does one-off stuff mostly.
New Tricks is just the best.
