secedeforme [Texas' only child, and, thankfully, also his only secessionist movement. He loves her with all his heart, however much they disagree. He allows her a great amount of leeway in what she does, and does his best to not interfere in her life too much (matters involving men excluded). He knows she tries to sway him and influence him, and he allows her this belief that she can, at least for the time being. He has a hard time telling her "no".]
New York / Michael Campbell [ boyfriend ]
americasempire [New York has firmly wormed his way into Texas' heart, regardless of questions how or circumstances. The Northerner is his shoulder to lean on in almost all things, and he strives to do the same for the other. He is willing to tolerate a great deal of things he normally wouldn't, and even change himself, to make and keep his Yankee happy, and in his arms.]
Anarosa Carriedo Ibarra / Coahuila [ ex-wife ]
betweenhertrees [Texas doesn't like to think about his former wife. He still feels very hurt and betrayed concerning her, even though a century and a half has passed since he last saw her. He doesn't regret their relationship, but he regrets how it ended.]
Alfred F. Jones / United States of America [ current nation ]
statescollected [Texas' sixth nation and "boss". Texas has a grudging respect for America, for saving his family and himself from sure death. Texas does his best to keep their relationship purely professional; He hasn't completely discounted the possibility that he may one day not belong to America anymore. Secretly, he would rather stay with America than be a republic of his own or belong to anyone else.]
Aaron F. Jones / Confederate States of America [ former nation ]
ingreatdeeds [One of Texas' former nations, and by far the one he is on the best terms with. He regards Aaron very differently than his brother; Aaron is actually tolerable, and doesn't mind spending time with him or around him. Despite the Civil War being long over and no longer being one of his states, Texas still likes him a fair amount and respects him. He will never be reluctant to refer to Aaron as "Chief".]
Ethan Hicks / Oklahoma [ blood brother/friend ]
suckmypanhandle [Texas' most trusted friend, neighbor, blood brother and rival in just about everything. Oklahoma is a childhood friend that has stuck with him to the present, and provided a great deal of support in his life. Though they sometimes fight, Texas knows he can always rely on his level headed neighbor to help him out when he needs it. Though he is terrified of what will happen if, and when, Oklahoma finds out about his relationship with New York.]
Julia Marks / Fort Worth [ estranged city ]
longhorn_logo [Texas gets along famously with some of his cities, but with some others, he considers them outsiders. Fort Worth falls into the latter category. This wasn't always true. Before the Civil War they got along well; It was after, during Reconstruction, when Fort Worth made her lifestyle change, that Texas changed his mind about her. Nowadays, they don't talk or see each other at all. He still makes sure to support Fort Worth politically and financially, but has no contact otherwise. He really just doesn't understand her, and doesn't want to make the effort to. He feels as if Fort Worth betrayed him by defecting from what he tried to teach her and the male role she was born into.]
Jason Clarke / Houston [ city ]
energetic_heart [Houston is Texas' nerdy little brother. He is, invariably, the one Texas calls on when he needs an intellectual's thoughts or interpretation on a matter. Despite that Texas trusts him with that role, he doesn't always follow Houston's advice as a doctor, opting more to do what he wants than what he should. Houston is frustrating to him at times, not being the strapping young man most of Texas' brothers are and being very liberal, but Texas loves and respects him nonetheless.]
Tom Prescott / South Dakota [ friend ]
thebetterdakota [Texas considers South Dakota a good friend. Someone else practical, level headed, not a city slicker and into motorcycles? How could he not? He likes South Dakota a great deal and wouldn't hesitate to help him out or fight alongside him.]
Meriweather "Meri" Gregory / Washington [ friend ]
shutupdc [Meri is one of the very few states that Texas allows the use of his human name. While they aren't particularly cloes, he does enjoy being around her and puts some trust in her. Some of her cities irritate him (See: Bellevue), but she's alright by him.]
Charolette Jackson / The American South [ Region ]
landofcotton [While Texas will never see The South as a mother figure, she is motherly to him. He appreciates her for that, and likes her. However, he won't make a special effort to get close to her, perhaps out of a subconcious fear that she will disappear one day, like his grandmother.]
Dennis Maverick / Sturgis [ friend ]
bikersandbombs [The only motorcycle rally Texas goes to is Sturgis'. Sturgis is someone Texas finds it actually fun to talk to and hang out with in general, and looks forward to seeing him. ...But if Sturgis lays a finger on Roslyn and Texas needs to kick his ass, their friendship is forfeit.]
Janjo Smit / Amsterdam [ boyfriend's family ]
redlightmuseum [Texas gave Amsterdam a chance; He even told Amsterdam his name with intent to let the city use it. And then Amsterdam forgot it, and made it fairly clear to him that he didn't care. So, Texas dislikes Amsterdam, but will put up with being around the him from time to time for New York's sake.]
Aaron F. Jones / Modern Confederacy [ former nation/friend ]
dirtysouthdirty [Well, wasn't finding this guy a surprise. Texas doesn't regret going to find his old boss again, however conflicted he feels about the man. On the one hand... The Confederacy. On the other, he still feels some loyalty and friendship, and some...lingering stronger emotions from their past together. It's pretty much only Texas' relationship with New York that stops him from pursuing anything beyond a friendship with the Confederacy now.]
