Merry Christmas everyone

I hope everyone had a lovely day yesterday. Mine was actually a lot nicer than I had been anticipating. My dad, brother, his wife and myself were spending it at home. We got up fairly later and had breakfast, and then went for a walk about midday in a nearby forest. It was very mild weather, and in fact at one point I just had a t-shirt on. We got home and I ordered everyone about the kitchen helping to get dinner on, and then we sat and opened presents. Dinner was a bit delayed thanks to our late start in the day and at one point my brother accidentally turning the oven off (they kept doing it in the Great British Bakeoff with the same oven and I totally understand how they did it, it's a ridiculously designed oven). My Christmas dinner was pretty good if I do say so myself, especially having to cater for 2 vegetarians. My Christmas pudding was very good, although definitely not as alcoholic as my mum's usual one... and I tripled the alcohol content from the receipe so I dread to think how much Mum's had in! After dinner we sat and played on a couple of Wii games (I got a good haul of presents this year as for once people paid heed to my Amazon wish list) before heading off to bed.

Today has been much of the same.. we went for another walk about 2pm up to Sharpenhoe Clappers, which is a lovely area in the Chiltern hills just a few miles away from home. My move back to Meppershall has reminded me of what beautiful countryside I am surrounded by, and I want to make the most of going on country walks in the next few months - needed to burn off all the weight I put back on having lost 2 stone in about a week in September.

Just had some bad news though - my grandmother (my dad's mum), who is staying with the remainder of our family in Cornwall, has just had a fall and has been taken to hospital in an ambulance. So my dad, who is almost at breaking point already, has now got that to deal with too.

God I cannot wait for 2011 to be over.
