Mum
Mum passed away at about 12:30pm yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. It was a lovely sunny day. I noticed a slight change in her and so was able to call my dad and brother, and we were all sitting with her and holding her hands as she slipped away.
The full force of what has happened has not hit me yet. It's not even shock I don't think. It's more relief right now, combined with the realisation that I had begun grieving for her weeks ago when already you couldn't hold a proper conversation with her. I am sure that once the memory of these last 8 weeks fades and the memories of my 'real' mum return the grieving process will begin properly.
