God I'm excited about Basel... Observe all the fun things I'll get to do there (from gridskipper.com):
The Blind Cow
“With us the eye does not eat also.” That’s the translated motto of Zurich’s Blindekuh (“Blind Cow”) restaurant. In this incarnation (there’s another Blindekuh in Basel (THAT'S ME, KIDS!)) of the pitch-dark restaurant, the waitstaff wear bells to indicate their presence to each other. Your job is to yell out your orders, and the waitron will ring bells back at you in response. If I’m understanding correctly, the menu offers appetizers, choice of three main courses (meat, fish, vegetarian), and dessert. According to the site, several of the servers and one of the chefs are in fact blind, adding to the handicapped verisimilitude. No idea as to cost, but one can safely assume it’s moderate to high, as the “experience” no doubt counts in the bill.
Or this?
Wordless Street Art Fest Photos
HighSnobeity has a great gallery of pics from last month’s Wordless street art festival in Zurich. The fest brought together heaps of talented peeps to create streety group art of most every description. Sure to become an annual event, spawn books and traveling exhibits, turn into action figures, etc.
So basically I'm going to be endlessly entertained. AND I'm listening to over-the-top Europop in honor of this whole adventure.
