Hot Pink makes me Happy
I had a good birthday. I just finished my last official birthday celebration (dinner with my mom). I can't believe how things came together this year. The past couple of years I've been dreading my birthday- not wanting a production; a stress-free end to a busy school/work day. However this year was very nice. I had cake on my birthday, and the next day went super shopping. Richie had gotten me Episode 3, Nacho Libre and flowers (and an amazing card) and I breathed a sigh of relief; I'm actually kind of relieved he didn't spend that much on meI some things got things I really wanted, like a new $50 Victoria's Secret IPEX (it still baffles me how those damned things are so expensive, green underwear and lots of ribbed tank tops. Friday night Richie, his family, and all our friends went out to Bella Mama's for dinner. It was amazing- the food was ridiculous (and inexpensive) and I was stuffed, Richie brought a guitar and serenaded me with "Forbidden Nectar" from Nacho Libre (LOVE), and get this- everyone chipped in and got me an XBOX 360. Like, HOLY SHIT. I cried. I couldn't handle it. And if that weren't enough, the next present I opened was a flat panel HDTV. RICHIE......I mean, come on. Since when do I get nice expensive things, nevermind two really nice expensive things? THEN to further push me towards tears**, the last present, from Steve, was a telescope. My very own telescope. I need time to play with all my things. I set up the TV and XBOX 360 and they're just beautiful. The telescope hasn't left the box yet but I'm chomping at the bit. I really can't believe all the shit I got for my birthday. I really can't believe it. I have really amazing friends; moreso than friends, they're my family. Oh, by the way I love you Sara. Just had to let you know that.

The recital is over and done with, and that might be the greatest gift of all. It went well, but finally all that work is done. I busted my ass for it this year but it was worth it I think. I might even get a few new students out of it. I really like to teach. I feel like its making me a better musician. I just like to impart knowledge. It's satsfying.
Well, schoolwork is still kicking my ass, but I think it's about time to catch up on some much needed rest.
