Time to UPGRADE

Speaking of upgrading my phone, I just got unexpected news that is giving me the push I need to upgrade my Nintendo DS!! Nintendo just announced that the price for 3DS is going down from $249.99 to $169.99 on August 12. A whopping $80 difference!! I didn't expect this drop until Christmas time. Why the price drop so early? 3DS is doing very well in Japan but not in the United States. So for the American Nintendo company to entice buyers, they've slashed the prices early. I see it as a Christmas in August.

I've had the 2nd generation DS since 2007 as a graduation gift. It means a lot to me and I held on to it for a long time. I even personalized it with stickers. Then they came out with the DSi and my boyfriend got that and tried to persuade me to get one too. I wasn't interested because I liked my DS. It was simple and I wasn't ready for all the extra features the DSi had which are internet capabilities and pictures. It can't play Game Boy Advanced games but that's alright. I have a Game Boy Advanced anyway. So here we are with the announcement of an early price drop. I can dig it. My boyfriend mentioned it was a move to entice those on the fence about buying one. Well, they got me. I plan on holding onto this one for 3-4 years too once I obtained it.

Today I'm thinking about going to Game Stop and trade in my DS and put money down on the 3DS. I hope I get a decent amount for it. It's $99 to buy the DS and it's not like it's the DSi so I hope I can trade it in for half that amount. Now that it's within reach, I'm very eager to get my hands on it. I wonder how many others are aware of this deal.

I also found out that there's a game and 3DS deal on the 28th of August. So much information at one time. I can wait or I can just go for it. I would end up getting my money's worth if I could get a game with the deal too. Hmmmm. Decisions Decisions yet again!! Even if I don't find any games immediately, all the other features are worth the cost. Yayy!! I'm so excited!!
