I sort of want to raise chickens. Not just for their fresh eggs but also for the fresh meat that I know isn't injected with God knows what. I wouldn't even have to kill them myself. They have processing plants that can do that sort of thing for me if I'm not into killing the animal. I don't know how I came about it but I've been looking at some websites and it's very very easy to get chicks, ducklings, pheasants and turkeys from suppliers. They can even ship them as young adults, ready to lay eggs in 2-3 weeks. I watched some YouTube videos of these birds being packed up for shipping via UPS. I didn't know they could ship live animals. But then again, if they can ship reptiles via mail, why not little chicks that have yolk within them that will sustain them for 72 hours. They just chirp alot. And I get the impression that they mail man doesn't deliver them. You have to go pick them up from the post office. Wouldn't want to leave a box of live animals on the door step. Of course there's the matter of city ordinances of keeping farm animals. If I get that far, then it's probably only a trip to city hall. So maybe if I get my own house in my elderly age and I'm fortunate enough to have the health and energy to do so, I'll raise some chickens. Since I don't plan on having children animal care can take up my time.
