Not that I had problems with them but with all these crazy cut backs they are doing because Email has dealt them a heavy blow, I was wondering how sending my brother a pound cake in the mail would work. We found some instructions telling us to freeze it for a couple of days then send it off. By the time it reaches him, it should be thawed out and still very much fresh. I never knew that.
We could have overnighted it but that's too expensive. It typically takes 2-3 days for item to reach him from here. But then this was the holiday weekend. Thankfully he called us today to tell us the cake arrived safely and tasted like it just cooled down from the oven. Perfect. He got 2 big ole slices and topped them with nice huge servings of ice cream. I can see him pigging out right now. In fact, I need to get my lunch for work in the morning together. I plan on taking some cake too along with whatever else I can find. I get paid soon so I can get some grocerys. We are plumb out of everything! I couldn't believe it: butter, bread, eggs, sugar, milk, you name it we're out. Holidays are good for that.
Now I'm so so so ready to get everything back in order and back on track. Normalcy as President Harding said. Even though that wasn't a real word until he invented it. Only thing is it seems as if people are on edge lately or something. Or maybe I'm imagining things.
