Kingdom A&S went really well in my opinion. Things seemed to run fairly smoothly for the most part. For the performance art area I ended up running a bardic circle as the judges needed A LOT of time in between performers to judge, write comments, etc. but it was fun getting to hear different people sing and getting to sing for them. Also performed a little with Fonda and Laura and that seemed to go over well with people. What can I say? I'm a performer at heart.
On a whole, I got about a "C" grade on average. I am ok with this. Yes, you heard me, I am ok with this. The feedback that I was given was super helpful and I'm excited to move forward with it. I have decided that the areas I would really like to excel in are performance art and manuscript arts, with clothing and cooking coming in a close second. Performance hands-down is my top choice as an area to work on; I'm a performer, plain and simple. I want to study it more and do more with it. Manuscript arts is a passion as well; I adore getting to work on a big project and collaborate with various images that I find. Clothing is just 'cause it's fun to get to say "yeah, I made this myself" and cooking because I like food :o) In addition, I really want to study more about the medieval Middle East and see what I can find there. Dairine and I put our heads together a bit and came up with a list of people to get in contact with regarding those areas. Again, super excited about the outcomes of the weekends events.
I spent a majority of my time hanging out with random people; re-submitted my name to the herald, giggled a lot with Yonaton and Illora, plotted things with Magdelen and Simon, laughed and joked with the Landsknechts, showed Laura around and possibly got her interested in checking out the SCA, talked with my laurel and Sabiha a bit, and all in all had a fun time. Afterwards Rabbit and I met up with some of my friends and saw "Nosferatu" at the Fox Theatre. Really cool place! I'm hoping to check out future shows there. I hit club crawl with Steph and Tyler; it was disappointing, so we ended up at Zan Rock instead. Really fun place, awesome music there. I've been trying to work on Kavin's scroll and doing the calligraphy on it is HARD. I'm worried it's not going to be done in time now..... *cringes*. We leave for Ren Faire Wednesday night I think; not sure what the plan is yet. Nothing really planned for it; going to work on a lot of scrolls and such for the Barony while I"m there and (hopefully) get the calligraphy for Shmenderek's scroll down on his piece. I feel like a heel, it's been so long since I made that thing.
Man.... we're busy every weekend it seems! This weekend Ren Faire, then Dragon's hoarde, then I forget, then Halloween, then Coronation/All Souls Procession, then Southern. Never a moment to breathe it seems. Such is the life of busy people.
