Wow. War was..... amazing. This is the first time I've been to war where I didn't come back in a foul mood; if anything, I'm exceedingly happy from all that happened.
I'll try and just hit the main points (because my hands still hurt some) but we'll see what I can cover.......
- Not a drop of rain the entire time we were there! YIPPEE!!!!
- I got to take the following classes and LOVED THEM ALL!!!!- Preparing and presenting bardics, beginning guitar, cheese making, elizabethan on a budget, micrography, and persian hats and headdresses
- Got to see MY PATRICK! And hang out with the rest of the people from Red Hands and Grand Alliance
- Asrune and I led in the troops with "Atenveldt, Atenveldt" and it sounded teh awesome.
- Went to the Ered Sul/Mons Tinitrus/Sundragon party and had an uber blast! Got to sing, got to dance, got to have Apple Pie, got to love on my wonderful drummer friends, got to have an excellent time :o)
- Sang with Asrune and Michael Kelly at Frog Whip and received all sorts of wonderful goodies from them including a pretty gold bracelet that Frog Mama gave me.
- Celebrated the unofficial anniversary with a shield blank, a pair of rabbit earrings and a pretty fringe belt
- Got to dance most every night and had a blast doing it
- Went campfire hopping with Michael and loved every minute of it
- Got to be an emergency lady-in-waiting to HRM Cecelia and showed up to a middle eastern tea party in viking clothes.... oy vey...
- Found some amazing new belly dancing music and books and a HAT THAT LOOKS LIKE CAT EARS!!! WOOT!
- Guitar got named Screaming Cat because I can now play multiple chords, but once I start strumming it begins to sound... well, awful to say the least. Need to work on that
- Got all the handsewing done on my vomitrocious orange persian coat during both courts. Now all that's left are buttons and buttonholes.
- Lost my camera in the midst of the tent so I didn't get to take any pictures.... anyone want to share?
- Didn't get to join in on the "official ladies night out" but did meet up with one of my girls at the Ered Sul et all party and we had a RAWKIN'
TIME there!
- Gave out water, made fighters laugh, then proceeded to herald for marshalls because they couldn't yell loud enough at people.
- Stayed out until 5am, so I slept in until 10am and woke up refreshed
- Screaming children? Only a few mornings, specifically one, and it wasn't too bad
- Woke up to ice on EVERYTHING and had to put Rabbit's stuff in front of the fire pit in an effort to thaw it out, so to speak
- Ate too much as usual. Walked everywhere. Feet hurt in a happy way.
- Saw many old friends, made many many new friends including an entire household :oD
- Was sorry to see Rabbit give back his Talon tabbard, but am excited that he is looking to trying to become a member of the Chivalry
- Excited for Rabbit; he came in 2nd place on 2 different rapier tourneys and won me a mirror box :o)
- Got to hang out with Zippy's lady; she's an amazing person and I'm definitely wanting to hang out with her more
- Was apprenticed to Mistress Dairine and am more stoked about doing arts stuff than ever :o)
- Sang for TRM and made them smile some
- Had a bardic circle at our camp and kidnapped Michael to come sing and made HRM Cecelia so excted; she kept talking about how she doesn't ever sing at campfires and how much fun it was to :o)
- Ended up enjoying camping in Aten Royal more than I expected, save for one night in which I disappeared.
- Sang, danced, laughed, and all in all had an amazing war :oD
Good times, very good times. Once I figured out where I wanted to go and who I wanted to see, everything just sort of fell into place. It was a lovely war and I'm glad I went :o) Here's hoping next year will be just as good, if not better. No tears except for one night which was sort of my fault, but we won't go into that. I didn't feel much of a downside to war this year, whcih is always pleasing. Yay for good times with awesome friends!
