YAY! They FIT! And Weekend of Company with Friends
So I got up this morning, grabbed my jeans on a whim, and guess what? THEY FIT! No laying on the bed to zip them up, no sucking in, no muffin top, they went on and zipped right up! YAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! This means that my tummy's swelling is FINALLY going down! SQUEE!!! :oD
So what's been happening? Well, there was a weekend event for ECS up in Phoenix so Rabbit and I went up there. We hung out with Chris and Lacrysta on Friday night. Went out to eat at a bar and grill that had pretty good food and talked about stuff. I got to have Strongbow again! Yummy stuff, even if it's not as good as some of the ciders I had in England. Went back to their place and Chris and Rabbit stayed up until about 4,30 in the morning playing video games while Lacrysta and I slept. Soft bed and no snoring and a cat that cuddled with me.... Ahhhh.....
Saturday was the Marquisate tournies. Lorelei asked me to run the arts competition so I did that mostly. Ehwaz was there! YAYAYAYAYAYAYY for former knights coming out with children and hubby :o) She, Lorelei and I all judged the items that we had, I think there were 10 in all! Boo yah! I had fun chatting with both of them and mingling with people at the event. Rabbit got to fight steel which was cool and also fought rapier. There was a girl there who submitted a dress she COMPLETELY made by hand that looked really, really pretty. I got to give her some pointers about sewing and we are planning on getting together to work together some more :o) However, I did realize in the midst of my judging some clothing items that I have a serious tactile defensiveness with certain types of fabric. There was this... I think it was a jerkin, maybe a vest.... but the fabric literally made my skin CRAWL. Ugh. It was a poly blend and it just felt GROSS. I judged the item the best I could, but man, I could not WAIT to get that out of my hands. It sucks; there were a lot of sewing items, but they were just so poor quality... it was like look at my work back when I first started sewing and didn't know ANYTHING. Poor quality, uneven stitching, it was just... bad. Most of the items looked like they might fall apart at a moment's notice. *Sigh* Now that I've learned the error of my ways, I want to be able to help others, make their stuff look good in addition to being durable, but, well, you can't rightly do that when the people who make the stuff hate you, now can you? Arg. Anywho, fighting was good, fighters looked like they were having fun and I got to hang out with people. What sucked, though, was that I'd opened up my mom's house for people to come over and shower and get ready for the feast. 2 weeks ago I told someone, and they kept hemming and hawing about coming over. Well, end of the event (after I'd asked AGAIN if they wanted to come over and he said he wasn't sure) he walks right up to this girl standing by me AND ASKS IF THEY CAN ALL GO OVER TO HER HOUSE TO GET READY FOR THE EVENT! HOMG WTF?!!?!?!?!!?! I was so upset I burst into tears. It sucked. I cried twice that day, actually, but we'll get into that in a bit.
Went back over to Chris and Lacrystas (since no one was going over to my mom's it was illogical to go back over there and most of our stuff was at their house anyway) and got ready and talked more with Michael and Avis. I miss them. I miss hanging out with them. I miss my Knight and getting to go out with her and stuff. *sigh* Anywho, got ready and went to the feast. Rabbit got sworn in as a new member of Zarelexis which was pretty exciting. Myn and Lark became the new Marquessas of Solaris which was also cool. Food was Tudor-style served on trenchers in an effort to be more period. It was interesting, that's for sure. However, midway through the event we were all introducing ourselves so we could meet the new people who had shown up and a group of people sitting right next to me said something awful. I thought it was geared towards me. I really did. In all honesty, I still think it does. I once again burst into tears and run off to the bathroom. This was sucktastic. Grabbed Rabbit and told him I wanted to leave. NOW. So we went into the kitchen to clean the dishes. Avis came in to check what was wrong and I explained the situation. She said she'd have Michael talk to them, followed by some wonderful knightly advice. lol She made me giggle, and having Sophia there holding my hand really helped, too. Sometimes you just need people to say the right things. We left immediately after still because I was so upset, though; I mean, here are people whom I consider my friends who are saying these horrible things in addition to making me feel like I'm an outcast at events and such. People suck sometimes.
Sunday we hung out with my family. Walked around Mill Ave and the Chandler Mall; found some cool gifts we want to get people which will be helpful in the next few weeks. Drove home late and just chilled. This week's been rather boring; mostly work and school. Been working on a group project with another girl and been irked because the other three people in our group have offered zero input or help. Oy. Oh well. They'll just get low grades when it comes to the final grade report. Not my dog.
This weekend is going to be full of seeing people. Marina and I are going to work on garb, I'm going karaoke-ing with Heather, seeing Gael again (YAY, haven't seen her in a looooong time), talking to JT about Crown stuff and getting things set for if we do win, and homework. I have a couple of essays I need to work on. Whoops. Ooooh and found out that Rabbit's dad is taking us to Disneyland Dec 13-15! YAY! I haven't been back since May 2001 so I'm totally stoked about it :oD C'est la vie!
*Edit at 12,21* SO I just got back the last test that I took and guess what? I got an 88%! WOOT!!! That makes 2 B's and a C! BOO YAH!! Today just keeps getting better and better :oD :oD :oD
