(no subject)
i have been dead to the lj world for ages now.been far too busy i guess. last weekend was my 23rd birthday and also my aunt and (now) uncle's wedding it was great i've never had so many of my family around on my birthday! i was chief bridesmaid and it turned out that my job was to basically stay very calm and keep everyone else calm too, i thought i just had to get pissed! i was incharge of the page boys which was a nightmare but the whole thing went off without a hitch. each of the 4 bridesmaids got a real hand made pearl necklace (at least £200 each) and each of the ushers (11) got a silver engraved pill box and the best man and 3 deputy best men ( don't ask, the groom couldn't make a decision)got sliver engraved tankareds. not to mention all the food band kareoke etc. it must have cost a bomb but it was an awesome wedding. they were even handing out vodka ljelly shots at the reception and presented me with a lovely birthday cake with a massive fiorework style candle in top which nearly set my very nice barnet on fire! it was awesome. but now i'm back to uni. was going to get myselkf a nice ipod for my birthday with the money that rellys gave me but i have bills to pay, it's shit having to spend gifts on bills but i guess that's my life now. academically things are going well just found out i passed my case study which i'm chuffed about i didn;t get the high marks that i wanted but i'm pleased to have passed cos about 40% of my cohort failed. back in placement soon and i can't wait i just hope i don't get put in a pissy old nursing home, purely because of the reports of bad practice that i've heard from other students. i just don't see how you can cut corners in health care, it just doesn;t make sense. although i suppose it fits in with the current trends of the government trying to sack nurses without replacing them... i mean are they fucking stupid or something?
in very sad news my matey maff (old school mate who came to boro to do a masters) is going back to sunny wales tomorrow. i can't believe it we've had an amazing time and i don;t want him to go!!! were going to get absolutely munted tonight on various substances, it's going to be messy. i can;t wait just 2 more hours of lectures!! should be a good time and i'm such a good girl i've already done the pre reading for my next lesson! go me!
