I was just having an argument with a teacher on paying for college.
T- "Kids that don't have to pay for college don't appreciate as much. When kids need to pay for college, they probably won't drop out when they already paid for two years."
Me - "I disagree. I think I appreciate it more, because now my parents aren't making me work as well as go to school."
T - "No, you don't. You mean to tell me if you had to work for the money, you wouldn't do as well."
Me - "I'd probably be more tired, and not do as well because I'm working too hard with school and attending an occupation. I wouldn't be able to focus as much, and there's probably more of a possiblity for me to drop out eventually. Anyways, it'd be almost impossible to intensely concentrate on two majors and have a high paying job to keep me in the type of university I'm about to attend, so I doubt I'd be able to get a concrete education if I was working, too. I'd have to drop to a less selective university or a community college. I don't see how I would appreciate that more..."
T - "No, you'd appreciate it more if you had to work..." :.Walks out.:
Me - "haha."
Oh, gotta love it.
