Have Children Gotten Softer?

Or were my brothers and I just weird?

I was driving up from grocery shopping - saw 2 kids, 2 adults putting all these black trash bags in the tunk of their car. I go in, put all my groceries away, and walk down to the mailbox. It takes about half a minute to walk to the mailbox from the apartment building. On the way, I pass the dumpster. So, let's say it takes half a half a minute to take the trash to the dumpster. Well, the car full of people has stopped, the mother gets out - and throws all those trashbags into the dumpster.

I just wanted to share that - that wasn't really my point.

My point was - and I want to ask if any of y'all did this, too...

When my Dad would go to the town dump, it was a big thing for us. We'd clamor to go because 1. He would let us ride in the back of the pick-up and 2. We could find all sorts of stuff for free! Once, I found a veritable treasure trove of Archie Comics.

Plus, when my brothers and the neighborhood kids played, often someone would end up in the dumpster - on purpose. Either for hide and seek, or because we saw something interesting. So, my question is - did anybody else play in the trash when they were a kid?
