Completely slacked on the Snowflake Challenge...

...so I'm going to do try and fit days 7-15 in this post.

Day 7

In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (More than one is okay, too.) Tell us about it, tell us why you love it, give us some examples and recs. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

In general I am a huge fan of older man/younger woman trope. I've read and written several Spuffy stories that have Spike as a human being significantly older than Buffy. I've read Older by Nautibitz more times than I can count! I've just gotten into The Walking Dead and I'm completely obsessed with Beth/Daryl!

Day 9
In your own space, talk about what surprises you about fandom. It could be a pairing or fandom you never thought you'd like. A fanwork type you never knew existed. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Something that never stops surprising me about fandom is how often I disagree with the popular opinion. It never fails!

Most recently, I was surprised by how much I loved the Damon and Bonnie storyline in The Vampire Diaries. I have never been much of fan of Bonnie's (see: unpopular opinions above), but this season I was in love with her and her friendship with Damon.

Day 11
In your own space, post a rec for fannish and/or creative resources. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

When I'm looking for fic recs, I always turn to tumblr. There are tons of really great rec lists there. Check out Everlark Recs for Katniss/Peeta recs, lvfic.tumblr.com for Veronia/Logan recs, and Bethyl Fanfiction Recommendations: A List for Beth/Daryl recs.

Day 12
In your own space, talk about what you bring to fandom. It can be something tangible, or not. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Unfortunately these days the answer is: not very much. I read a lot of fan fiction, and make an effort to leave reviews. If I find something worth reccing I try and do that on my LJ. I'm a part of two landcomms: womenverse and tv_universe. If you join tell them I sent you over!

Day 13
In your own space, talk about a creator. Show us why you think they are amazing. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

As I have said, I read a lot of fan fiction. I may be a bit biased, but I honestly feel that the writers of the Spuffy fandom in particular are excellent. A lot of those writers are no longer active in fandom (most probably off writing original fic), so I will mention a few of my favs that are still around. Please don't be offended if I don't mention you...there are so many wonderful authors it would be next to impossible to name you all!

brutti_ma_buoni, slaymesoftly, quinara, spuffy_luvr, and many more!

Day 14
In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I've decided to rec three Beth/Daryl fics since I've been reading that pairing non-stop.

1. House Call by LemonStar
2. S is for Sure by Penelope Muir
3. You Found Me by LemonStar
