I'm not sure how many people on my F-list are still reading Spuffy, but I've come across two outstanding stories.
The Soul Lies Down by the_moonmoth
Summary: As a child, I used to dream of a man in black and white, spinning in the desert like a dervish, sword flashing in the moonlight as he danced with death. [Sequel/companion to Angearia's "Fin Amour"]
You should read Angearia's fic first to have an idea of what's going on.
Buffy gets mystically pregnant by the monks, and Spike dies protecting her from the Knights of Byzantium. There isn't much I can say that won't give the plot away so I'll just say that it's absolutely worth a read. It's still a WIP (I normally don't like waiting for updates but this is worth it!), and hasn't been updated since August.
Somethin' Special by Isha_Rose
Summary: In 1966 social change was thick and heavy in the air. When private school girl, Buffy Summers, was handed a Community Service Order for an offense that wasn't hers, she was forced to spend weeks on end with the delinquent boys who gatecrashed her Sweet Sixteen. But it was this that set in motion a life very different to the one that she might've led otherwise. Because in 1966 Buffy Summers met Spike - young, angry, and ready to set the world ablaze for the injustices he'd suffered at the hands of 'people like her'.
The next twenty five years hold much chop and change for our unlikely pair, but one thing will remain constant throughout. Them.
This story is choc-a-block full of nostalgia, romance, friendship, betrayal, art and revolution. It totals 10 chapters, spanning the '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s; I hope that you'll join me for the ride!
I really wish this story wasn't a WIP. Once again I really don't like to read WIPs because I can become obsessed (as I have with this story) and then I'm dying to know what happens. As the summary says the story travels quickly through time. It starts in what I'm assuming is the present for them (1990) and then fills in the blanks starting in 1966. It's very interesting how Spike and Buffy's relationship constantly evolves. An absolute must read!
