So last night started out as crap, I was originally supposed to see Anchorman again with Crystal and Melissa but this free Roots concert came up and so we decided to go to that instead, it was supposed to start at seven but it didn't start until 8:20 and they only played for twenty minutes and it was raining from about 6:30 til 8:00 and I got soaking wet. After getting soaking we and disappointed by The Roots, we went Thailand Cafe and had some much needed comida and then we got back to the original plan of seeing Anchorman. We did make the wise addendum to our schedule to do shots before the movie, being tipsy made an already funny movie funny as hell. BTC and I had seen it already but it was still crazy funny. And the dude that made the shots, two for each of us, made them in regular glasses so they were huge. Good times.
Tomorrow we're on a mission to make stupid people jealous. Well, they are on a mission to make stupid people jealous, I'm just a pawn in their little game. The idea is to show up at the same restaurant as this other girl that they don't like, they plan to bring boys that she doesn't know so she will be jealous of the Crystal and Melissa group. It's fun to be a pawn, I don't have to do anything at all, just show up and, WHAMMY, jealousy. I'll have to try to look good if this is going to work. Who'd going to be jealous of the frumpy nerd boy? The frumpy nerd girl, that's who. And I'll be honest with you, I'm not trying to pull Frumpy Nerd Girl. (That's not you Heather, you are nerd but not frumpy, especially if you get that Rolex, then you'll be a baller.)
It's funny how the New York social scene works if you're not a native. There's a definite ladder effect here, and you have to be willing to climb the ladder to make any friends, and climbing the ladder means stepping on people. One would think that you come to New York, there's tons of people, there's bound to be just endless amounts of people to hang out with. Such does not seem to be the case. You simply have to play Chutes and Ladders if you are going to get anywhere socially, essentially, you have to use people that you might not really like to get to other people that you might like. And if you refuse to play games, you end up playing solitary. I personally hate this phenomena and I try to stay out of it as much as possible, at least for myself that is, I don't mind backin' up a friend when they need it, especially when it's actually for people that I DO like.
Well, I'm off to 'cry meself to sleep on me huge pilla'.
