Who: Butters and Bradley
What: Hanging out, baking cookies, watching a movie
Where: Butters' house
When: Sunday afternoon/evening
WARNINGS: None yet

Bradley kept his head down against the wind as he walked the short distance over to Butters' house. His backpack was slung over his shoulders and his cheeks were burning with shame. He'd lied. To his mother. He knew she didn't approve of Butters, and he'd told her he was going to study at the library for the day. He prayed the entire way to Butters' house, thinking that maybe this friendship was interfering with his walk with God. He was lying, not to mention having lustful thoughts, about someone who said that God was capable of creating a damaged being like himself.

But maybe, just maybe, Butters was right. Bradley smiled to himself, because nothing in the world gave him hope like Butters' simple honesty.

He was still smiling when he rang the bell of the Stotch home, shifting from foot to foot, a little anxious, the wind cutting through his jeans and hooded sweatshirt, even though he wore another sweater underneath.
