I've totally messed up my sleeping schedule, so I'm awake and bored on my computer instead of sleeping like I should...which is why I spent far more time than this incident is worth, illustrating the one thing that has happened to me since updating my journal last.

This is a parking lot outside of Walmart, today. Gray circles are cars that are parked and have nothing to do with our story. The little circles at the front of cars in color, are headlights - mostly just so you know which way the car is pointing. The rest should be pretty self explanatory.

with me so far? I guess technically "jerk" had been stuck behind the car that blocked everybody, for longer than I had been stuck. But even though at that point, neither one of us was waiting for my parking spot, that driver hadn't even gotten to her car when we started waiting...and even though I had right of way because I was making a right turn...even so, "jerk" decides that he was in line and I stole his spot.

so I've got this black guy parked right behind me in the middle of the road, refusing to drive on, glaring at me, and yelling out his window at me as soon as he catches my eye. I didn't hear what he said, but he was clearly pissed off that I had "stolen his spot" and wanted to fight.

I'm a single girl, by myself in the middle of a ghetto walmart parking lot. There is no way in hell that I'm going to take on some stranger who is crazy enough to want to pick fights with strangers over a parking spot. It's not a matter of right or wrong, or pride, or anything...it's just not safe.

So I roll down my window and yell that if he'll back up, I'll give him the parking spot. He does, I back out. And drive literally four or maybe five spots over, where there is ANOTHER empty spot.

Was it really worth it to him, to go picking fights with strangers, just to save himself approximately ten seconds of walking? I hope he felt like an asshole. I doubt it, though.
