tired- so very very tired
Exhausted, haggard, wasted, tired. So tired stirring the chocolate for the fudge made my arms ache. Sigh. We baked yesterday and monday and today. Yesterday we saw santa- oy vey southdale used to be the best mall- what has happened? one mall restroom. one. And of course no one has to go at the same time.
So the sugar cookies are cut, baked, frosted and decorated. Even put into containers. Choc fudge, pb fudge, peppermint bark, pumpkin bread, banana bread, new bread that we probably won't give out but will instead eat for breakfast, done. Spritz, molasses cookies and swedish almond cookie doughs are all made- just needing to be baked. Then I am done till Sunday. When the big bake happens. Raspberry windowpanes, springerles, cream wafers, russian tea cakes, lemon balls, oatmeal carmelitas, oreo truffles, almond brittle and god knows what all else we normally make.
The holiday train was good- great actually but since it wasnt a surprise it wasn't quite as amazing as last year.
My kids are in the other room playing with tinker toys. They are loud because unlike other kids- tinker toys here mean microphones, guitars and drums. Yes they made their own band. They have written two songs and are very famous- they have performed two shows already today and have another scheduled for when daddy comes home. They are currently striking the set and putting the instruments away so that they can watch tv. They are sick- cough cough- so they get tv. Here was the conversation "right mom? We get tv when we are sick!" Well, yes if you have a fever or a puking. Well, I have a sort of sore throat and a cough and I feel a little hot so tv? "okay but only if I get to nap"
So hopefully some minor relief from tired and a little warmth under the blanket- we keep our house cold lately to reduce our footprint... Then baking at least one kind of cookie and then picking up the easy photo cards from costco- I need to find addresses of everyone- I know I don't have most.
Hell. Maybe I will just hand them out and save on postage. That still counts right- we took a 100 pics to find one of us at least all looking toward the camera...well except for the cats. I spent over an hour at midnight falling asleep at the computer to come up with the lame saying above our family name. Oh well even if it shouldn't count it has to- it is all I have the energy for.
