It's been a long weekend.
Satuday I had to wake up at the crack of dawn to be asked "What is the main idea of this passage?" Are you kidding me? Did you implant the section right from the 5th grade MEAP test? Is that all you really need to know to become a teacher in Michigan? The main idea of an article about muscle tissues? I had to wake up at 6:30 AM for this? Not only that, and it is nothing against her, but one of the girls I drove took 3 HOURS to finish it. i had a rehearsal that I almost completley missed. I got there for two pieces. That's it. I was sort of annoyed. Then Saturday night a bunch of us went to the hockey game, which sucked because they lost to some teeny school. There was a player on the other team named Bittle. It made me laugh.
Today we had our Stars, Stripes and Sousa concert. I am SO GLAD that it is over with. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a really good concert. I can't say I particularly liked all the music, but Keith Brion had obviously done his research because the audience reacted in a way that I had never seen before. At the end, during Stars and Stripes when the piccs were standing out in front of the band, i could see this one lady that just had tears running down her face and she was just standing there with her hand over her heart, and wow. That was really neat.
I'll be home next weekend. Thank goodness for that.
